Keeldragger: The Bight — feedback privacy (6 November 2026; screenshots added 7 November 2026)
This covers the game’s Feedback button. The game’s full privacy policy will follow.
Feedback from the game
The game has a Feedback button. Use it to send us a feature request, a bug report or a thank-you. Sending feedback is optional. You need a Keeldragger account, and the game shows you everything it will send before you send it.
What is sent when you send feedback
- What you write: the type (feature request, bug or thanks) and your text. For a bug, also how serious it is and the steps to reproduce it. If you type an email address, the server replaces it with "[email]" before storing anything.
- The game: its version, build number and build code.
- Your computer: the operating system, the device model, the graphics card, the screen resolution and the graphics setting.
- Your game at that moment: the boat you're sailing, its position in the game, the game's clock and time rate, the mission or race, whether you're playing alone or in multiplayer, and the last 20 messages the game showed you.
- The recent log (optional, for bugs): the last 200 KB of the game's log file. The box is ticked by default and you can untick it. Before the log is sent, the game removes your computer's user name (from folder paths) and any email address.
- A screenshot (optional): a picture of the game's screen, taken as you open the Feedback form. It is off by default and sent only if you tick "Attach a screenshot". It shows only the game's own window.
- Your account: the server identifies you by the sign-in token your game already holds. Your feedback is stored with your account's internal identifier, not your email address. Your game never sends your email or your player id with feedback.
What we do with it
- It's read by Keeldragger's developer (one person). We use it to decide what to build or fix, and to answer you.
- Each morning a summary of the previous day's feedback is emailed to the developer. To write the summary, the text of new feedback (not your account or email) is processed by Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, through Amazon Bedrock in the United States. Under Amazon Bedrock's terms, that text isn't shared with Anthropic and isn't used to train any model.
- To send you a reply, or to tell you when something you asked for has shipped, we look up your account's email address at that moment. Only the developer sees it, in the admin page and the morning email. It is never stored with your feedback.
- Replies reach you as a Notice in the game, through Keeldragger Messages. If you use the same account in another Keeldragger app, you may see them there too.
- Feedback is never public, never sold and never shared. Amazon Web Services stores it and runs Bedrock for us, as a service provider.
Where and how long
- Feedback is stored on Amazon Web Services in the United States (us-west-2).
- Feedback, logs and screenshots are kept for 400 days, then deleted automatically. Database backups add up to 35 days. Server logs, which hold the first 8 characters of an account's internal identifier and never an email, are kept for 14 days.
- If we turn a request into work for a future version, a short title and description, as the developer wrote them, are kept in our build plan. They carry the reference number (for example FB-0042) and nothing about you.
Your choices
- Don't use the Feedback button, or untick "Attach the recent log", or leave "Attach a screenshot" unticked.
- To have your feedback deleted sooner, email captain@keeldragger.com from your account's address and give the reference numbers if you have them (for example FB-0042). We delete those items and their logs within 30 days.
- Deleting your Keeldragger account removes the notices sent to you. To have your feedback removed as well, ask by email as above.
- You can send up to 10 items a day.
